The mower deck for my '69 Sears was bent up terribly bad and had a broken link. I welded the link, removed the dents and got the correct shape back to it, sharpened the blades, greased the spindles, replaced a tension spring and greased the hinge frame. So it's ready to roll except it looks as though it's missing something.
On the right side of the deck where the grass exits, there is a tab with a hole in it. On the left side there is what looks like a slider of some sort. Should one be on the right side as well?
What protects the deck from high objects such as exposed roots? Does someone have a picture of a correct deck for me to see? I can fabricate what it needs it I knew what it looked like.
I'd be real surprised if nothing goes there.
