wow what a project this has been . about 2 months work but shes back working after sitting (garage thankfully) since 2003. engine was seized up and refused to break free so I swapped engines from and old relic I had in the back yard. another stx 38 that I got many years ago but was just too far gone to save. its engine ran well tho. the one I fixed I got from a deere collector who decided not to restore this one and sold it to me for 50$. hope to take it out for its first mow tomorrow . sadly there isn't much on youtube for the stx 38 that's helpful so I had to learn as I went.. this is my dream deere. finally I have one

How about some pics?

Mine came with the house when I bought it 12 years ago, been using it to cut the grass since. Very capable little lawn tractors. It's getting a bit worse for wear now, but keeps chugging along.

first mow went great. figured out how to level the deck -no info on you tube. deleted the fuel solenoid. -less to go wrong. 2 new tires and 2 used from ebay and a good seat from ebay aand she is done. the quality of these tractors is outstanding. prefer this one to my lt133. all told cost about 350$ including buying the tractor. its a yellow deck also
