Sadly, that exact same thing happened on Route 6 in Providence a few years (decades?) ago. Was a dumping garbage truck, I believe. But it was definitely a pedestrian bridge, which had to be replaced as a result of the impact.

Can you change the oil and grease while we're at it? That has happened more than once, one over height load hit an overpass on 99 here in BC, he kept going and got jammed under the next one! Needless to say he lost his cdl and he and his former employer are on the hook for damages.
Happens more than I realized, even around here. I went searching for a news article to post about the incident I described in my last post; couldn't find that, but did see that an idiot jammed a full-sized excavator on a trailer under an overpass about two years ago (also in this area), fled the scene and was later arrested...
