I don't know how to post pictures via messaging so I started this thread to get some suggestions and show pictures of my dilemma. I have the blower on and hooked to the hydraulic lift and as you can see from these pictures my blower is hitting the weight bracket not allowing my stops to do their job, it's close but I just don't like the idea of that blower hitting the bracket. As it is now I have 3 1/2 inches of lift from the ground on the blower. If the X540 didn't have the weight bracket/extended bumper it would have been a perfect fit.

Nothing wrong with your set up bmurph44.

In this picture the blower is lifted with the original JD mechanism.

In this picture, if you look closely, the blower is lifted by a electric winch that i install on the brush guard.

Note: Make sure you're front tires are at 14 psi, and the rear at 10 psi.

How high does your blower lift from the cutting edge to the floor?

Mine is 3 1/2 inches.

I think I'm going to call it good to go and wait until next winter after I have used it a few times to decide whether to do something different with the weight bracket. My thoughts are to grind the welds off and remove the front bar then fabricate something to use as a bolt on type bracket to hang weights on. I really don't think I will ever be using front weights but at least that option will be available if needed.

You can readjust the lift rod (show in the picture) to rise the blower higher, you'll reach 4" +/-

Auto part Line Diagram Steering part Automotive exterior

Here is with the original JD mechanism.

With the winch.

Note that higher you rise the blower less lower it will go, with the original JD mechanism the maximum travel is about 4"1/2.

Thanks, that's only 1/2 inch difference as there is no adjusting it to go higher because the blower is touching the weight bracket at 3 1/2 inches.

Above 4 1/2" is the height you lift the blower to more easily remove the drive belt on the #44 and the belt could come off when you don't want it to.
What do you want the extra height for ??
The X520 has the weight bracket standard.

I don't, just wanted a comparison to make sure I was in the ballpark.
