I've been following another discussion regarding converting an 031AV to electronic ignition.
I also have a 028AV Wood Boss that quit running right on me a few years ago. I was in the middle of a cut when it started to sputter. It wou!d bog down every time you pull the trigger. I rebuilt the carburetor at the time. No change. It's been to a couple repair shops and they haven't been able to fix it either. One place rebuilt the carburetor again and no change.
It will usually start right up and idle, but pull the trigger and all you get is blah. Pull the trigger lots of times fast and it's just blah blah blah blah. Although a couple times it did catch and wind up to high rpms, but eventually bogged back down and then wouldn't wind up again.
Compression seems good.
Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds more like a plugged up High side circuit in the carb. Use a spray bottle with mixed gas, remove the air filter and as it starts to bog out...blast a bit of liquid motivation down her throat, if she takes off you know its not ignition.
