I guess that is one way to stabilize a worn front end. To the best of my knowledge I have not ever seen one on an N.

The steering box has play,but the rest of the front end has always been good.

They used them when the tractor saw a lot of road travel. Quite a few old style tractors would shimmy at speed, these helped eliminate that, plus wheel jerk in the field. When new, it made the tractor a little harder to turn the wheel. PJ

I talked to my neighbor(who owned the tractor for 32yrs.).He said my grandfather was doing work with it at a relatives house a few miles away,he said he put it on there for the road.Made it drive much better on the blacktop :fing32:.
