I am looking for the overall length of the steering cable for the 942 articulator. I know I can buy the replacement kit, but they cost about $200 canadian. I have purchased cable and want to make up some spare cables for my machine. I patched together an old cable, so I am able to use it right now, but I don't know how long it will last. If someone has a new cable that they could measure from end to end (threaded ends included), then I can make some up. As far as I can remember, the cables are all the same from the 940 model to the 944.

105 inches overall. I just made one up for a friend. Took about an hour with a total out of pocket expense of under $2

Awesome. Thank you very much.
I picked up about 50 feet of cable last year when they had it on sale, so I'll be able to make a few spares for the future.
How did you crimp the ends on to the cable?
I was thinking of using threaded rod and tack welding them together, or drilling a solid rod, threading it, and crimping with a hydraulic press.
