started with a Warn winch that ive had layin around for about a year. decided that since im putting on the snow blower on the 7116 this year i didnt want to keep lifting it.
that and the lift rod will not let it go high enough when loading onto a trailer.
not all the way done yet but should be 90% before dark.
only had to drill 1 new hole and widen another on the frame.

winch mounted to the bracket:

testing direction before i mount my switch:

rocker switch: trashed my dash decal by trying to use a knockout in the metal.

will post up a few more pics tonight.

Good idea, and those blowers sure are heavy! I am sticking with the Armstrong lift though, unless/until I swap in a hydro lift.

When I plow, I need to be able to lift that plow up high quickly... like when I ram a snowbank. The electric is just way way too slow.

nah, they want to much for that factory lift. besides my time, and a lil steel, this is a total freebie. winch had a control switch on it but i took it off. might put it back on so i can control it from the front of the machine.
got done a bit sooner than i thought. seems to work pretty good except i need a thicker eye bolt. im just hoping it is high enough for loading in and out of a trailer without detaching.
put some new lag bolts in the dash and im rolling with all black until i can afford a new decal....$26+.
greased all of the front bearings too while i had the wheels off. all in all it was a pretty easy mod.
more pics :fing32:

Funny thing, I was just telling my better half that I need to get a winch and mount a snow blade on my 4-wheeler. Then I see your thread.
cityboy2977, is the up and down mode slow or is that part ok to you?
I have a Suzuki ,500cc, 1999 year with just 400 mile on it. time to make it earn its keep around here.
Thanks for the thread and pics

Ya but i have actually made a couiple adjustments to it

I had to put two bars out like 2 ft out on my tractor with a pulley on it to go down to the bucket because there wasnt enough straight line on the winch. Ill try and take another picture of it updated.

Take a look at the Swisher site for some good ideas about plows and buckets for an ATV. I've had both for a number of years now and found them to be excellent. Wouldn't be tough to build if you have a shop. When I bought mine I didn't have ready access to the equipment needed.

ya that will do it, for sure. Did you check the clearance to get it on the trailer? Do you have a tilt bed trailer? Thats what i have and I have the same problem.

the trailer i have does tilt but it tilts funny. the pivot point should have been placed a couple feet towards the rear. but it was a boat trailer.
no i have not tried to load it onto the trailer yet. have to a lil cutting on the gate area to get it out of the back yard without scraping up the fenders.
but i might hook the trailer to the 990 and see if it will stay on the ground while loading the Simplicity.
i have to be careful, my ramps have not been tested yet.

So is that you or your stunt double?:sidelaugh
oh you real funny round eye. i told ya to disregard the fat hippy.

and for those that wanted to know, it goes up onto the trailer just fine.
but only forward, the rear tires spin as soon as they hit the wood. even with loaded tires and chains.....go figure.
