Was on a bicycle ride this weekend and screeched to a stop in front of a house that was selling a pretty clean-looking Bolens ST110 tractor with the bagger attachment. 5-speed.
The owner said the only issue (other than a dead battery, and I KNOW what that might mean) is the parking brake doesn't hold well when engaged.
Q: I read thru the factory manual on the brake adjustment, but is it very similar to the Craftsman mechanism where a lever rides on a cam and applies pressure to a small disc? Ultimately, I'd like to get an idea if there is any adjustment left, or if the parking brake is LIKELY to be non-effective. Is it externally rebuildable? My yard is VERY hilly, and a parking brake is a MUST.
Tractor looked dirty but very straight. Asking $250, what's it worth?
