Squeeking when depressing clutch

I was wondering if anyone has experienced any high pitched squeeking when depressing the clutch. What could cause that. The tractor is a Bolens 900. Also what kind of oil or grease do you use in the transaxle?

there are a few bearings on the belt pully shaft
one right in the front that you can spray down with some lubricant (wd40 is not a good lubricant)

see if that helps any

i put gear oil 80-90 in my transaxles

I think the issue is that the brake is not stopping the transmission. Anyone delt with this oroblem before?
i swapped over a 1050 driveshaft into my g12
same tranny, just diff clutch and brake setup

i have not get fabed up linkage to get the brakes working
but the tranny slows the machine down to a stop quick
the ds does not have enough mass and momentum to get the gears spinning in the tranny so it stops quick

what im getting at is, if you think its the brakes, disconect the pads and see, you can still drive it around saftely

i have a high pitched squeal when i press the clutch in or let it out, and i know mine is not the brakes

What I meant in the pm I sent you is that the steel that holds the brake pad is possibly hitting the steel piece the brake pad is supposed to be hitting. It would cause the transmission to have trouble stopping, and it would also make a squealing noise whenever you push the clutch in as it would be trying to apply the brake.

I found another posting of a guy who seemed to have a similar problem as me.

I notice the brakes on his are much better than mine - http://i48.tinypic.com/o50zna.jpg

Mine compared to this are almost completly worn away. Top and side. The side brake is metal to metal for sure as half the brake is gone. But the squeeking noise still sounds like it is coming from the front of the tractor. The transmission is not being stopped by the brakes and thus it is difficault to change gears.
