What kind of Speedex is this? Is it worth $300 with no spark? Thanks!

It has a 9 hp Briggs if that helps. I think it's a 1430, but I'm not sure.

Here's all the info I know. I was told that the deck was perfect with no rust. The rear end was worth the asking price to a Speedex guy. I could double my money if I got it running. He thinks a mouse chewed a wire which is why it doesn't have spark. Missing the original seat and starter/flywheel cover. He's the second owner and it was always kept inside.

That's about all I know about it. So is it still only worth $150 to you? I appreciate your input!

What you have there is a 1972 Speedex S32. They are serious machines and built like tanks. With a nice mower deck, I think it's a great find. I don't think $300 is unreasonable at all. Certainly I'd try to negotiate though - you always want to try to get it cheaper. I had a S23 a year or so ago that I sold for $800 not running. Granted, it took a month or so to find a buyer, but I still made money on it. If I had a deck for it though, I probably would have kept it. There are some cool vids on YouTube of them mowing etc. Just search for Speedex. You might also find this site useful: http://www.speedextractorinformation.com

Hope this helps a little. :trink39:

I would grab that Speedex if I were you. I have a model 1631 and would recommend Speedex highly. You won't be disappointed.

Thanks guys! I was actually planning on going to look at it Friday but I had to buy a $100 battery today for my truck. Grrrr. I'm supposed to go tomorrow to buy an engine for another tractor so now I don't have enough to buy it. That stinks because I really like it. Maybe if it doesn't sell in a week I can still go look at it.

I looked at the vids on YouTube. There's some pretty cool videos!
