So I picked up a 1982 Speedex 1622 which is in good shape. Tin's great, paint is good, original motor runs very well, 3pt hitch, so on and so forth.
Biggest issue is the hydraulic pump or hydrostat I guess needs a rebuild.
I have all the original manuals, brochures, etc. and there is an exploded view in there.
Seems though after breaking the pump down that the large bearings in the pump in centrifigul areas are sticking in the respective machined areas. Make sense? so it's like the bearings have deformed, there's a build up in the tunnels or something along these lines.
I also think I'm missing the two check valve bodies.
So the question is, does anyone have any experience rebuilding one of these?
have a source for parts, or even better a replacement pump for a REASONABLE cost? went to a hydraulic shop to get a replacement sealed bearing and seal and by the look on their face can only imagine what they'd charge me for a new one!
