Sovereign weight?

Does anyone know the weight of a Simplicity Sovereign 3314? It has to be the heaviest tractor I own (with a 48" deck). My Ford LGT165 weighs 853 lbs, but the Simplicity has to be more. I'm just curious, because we rolled mine onto a trailer, and it just about killed me! lol

I don't know the answer, but I look forward to someone posting it here. I have the 3012 and it is a heavy bugger. I think the deck alone will pass 100 #. Have you looked on SimpleTractors.com for the info?
Yeah, I looked all over, but to no avail.:dunno: They sure overbuilt these things, I'm not complaining though.
should be around 900-950lbs. without the deck.
A '67 3012 weighs 735# dry...hydrolift adds 24#. A 48" mower deck weighs in at 135# (1969 listing shows 167#).

The closest I can find to a 3314 is a 3212H, wich would share the vickers hydro rearend, if yours has it. The 3212H with hydrolift shipped dry at 760#. I'm guessing gear and motor oil, and a tank of gas doesn't add all that much, so you're probably looking at a 800#+ tractor, given the 3400 series has more sheetmetal with the longer frame, hood and runningboards. No idea what the difference in the weight on the Briggs is between a 12 and 14hp.

Here's a link to the ST Simplicity price lists...they show the ship weights of tractors and attachments from 1961-1969.

Assuming the 3314 is over 800# (say, 850# wet), and the deck is 167#, you're right...you were pushing about a half ton. =]

Thanks for the replies! I am not really familiar with the Simplicitys, and I'm not sure about the rear end either. It has a 3 speed (I think) and some type of speed adjuster on the right side. I don't think its a shuttle like my Baron has though. I just got it to fire for the first time in about ten years, and I haven't rode it yet. I did notice that it has the EXACT briggs engine as my Sears ss14, so I can search for e-bay parts easier since I need a booster fan and a air cleaner.

This is why I favor moving them with a trailer. I would not want to try to drive one up into a pickup bed on ramps.
Sounds like you have a model 3314V.

According to the manual linked below, your tractor alone weighs in at 883 lbs.

Wow...I don't think I would ever have seen that in the manual! :thanku:

Thanks Homesteader, I couldn't find that anywhere. Bookmarked!:fing32:
