I signed on due to having a reoccurring problem with a deck actuator switch on my economy jim dandy. The new switch shows continuity, but deck won't actuate. I do have to jump the battery every time to start tractor, is it the battery causing both problems. I am a little strapped for cash at the moment, and can only fix necessary problems first.

I would replace the battery first, sounds like your problem.
