There is a skating school near me been in buiseness many year's that has one of those based on a 316 they bought new and are still using. I saw it in operation and once saw it at the dealership for repair. BILL

Ya, but its awfully heavy for me to pull with no snow on the ground here!

Hey, wait! Can you get a 3PH for a dog sled?!? If you can combine tractors with SKATING, why not with dog sledding?

Although the tractor is a John Deere, note that the ice resurfacing machine is not manufactured by John Deere. It is manufactured by Zamboni.

As most have figured out, it is indeed a Zamboni made machine. When you buy one, you get the tractor and the resurfacer. They mount it and adapt the tractor to fit the machine. They also make a 200 for larger tractors: http://zamboni.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Model_200_Brochure_web.pdf

It is a neat machine. The weather has been awful this winter for making a backyard rink. I tried and failed.

just got back from a hockey game...

and this the first year in 5 we did not build an ice rink for the nephews (too old I guess, them not me )

Got lucky as it would only be a wood bordered pond this year, so far!

that thing would be great and affordable for municipal rinks etc. might be a bit of overkill for a home rink, ours was 80' x40' but hey if you have the extra scratch...

there is nothing like skating on freshly finished ice though!
