Fine looking tractor. Looks like someone else is pretty fond of it, too.

Nice looking original triple 4.
I like the original deck under it.

What happened that the engine was out?

When I had gotten the tractor is was a "smoker"(I'm guessing it sat for quite some time) I maybe had the tractor for a week or so before the engine was done...and I mean DONE. As luck would have it, I had another all original 84 224 with a good engine and only about 70 original hours if you can believe it on the motor. So I decided to donate the good motor to the newly aquired 444 and the rest was history.

I want to get a Case/Ingersoll one of these days. How do you like the cut?

Pretty awesome especially with out striping wheels. Great cut, great lawn

I must admit that I have a striping kit I more or less made myself for the Case/Ingy decks to get the lawn stripes. I can testify that even without the striping kit the mowers cut flawlessly to the point that with the exception of golf course equipment, I've yet to see or find another finish mower that does much better than the cut quality of the Case/Ingy belly rotary mowers.

They cut very nice.
It's due to the ground following deck. They are like older Weel Horse and Simplicity. Simplicity utilizes rollers while Ingersoll and WH use wheels.
All excellent designs and more manufactures should go this way. I believe Simplicity and Ingersoll are the only 2 left making tractors/riding mowers with this style deck arrangement.

Nice lawn. :fing32:

Thanks, you know the one thing I am so livid toward Case/Ingersoll about is the fact the they fell behind in the PR(advertising) and marketing/merchandise market compared to just about every other brand, especially JD, which in my opinion was one of the major contributing factors in regards to their demise, which is very unfortunate. -Jon

She's purdy. The 15" rims really make those tractors look awesome.
