Snowblower is not setting on the ground.

What would you do to fix the problem? Get a piece of steel and bolt the piece of steel on the bottom of the snow blower so the blower hits flush on the ground. Or is there a way to set the snowblower so it sets on the ground?

I should mention that my snowblower does not have the adjustable feet on the sides of the snowblower.

It's for a sears suburban and the model starts with 917.

It's the older style snowblower.

Hi LJ. I'm not all that familiar with the Suburban blowers, but I'm wondering if the raise/lower mechanism is adjusted properly. Does the r/l arm have an adjustment on it?
Also, are the front wheels/tires the proper sized ones for the machine, and likewise the rear tires. If bigger/smaller, they could affect the height of the machine's frame and the attachments.
The blower that I had to retrofit onto my 1990s Craftsman wouldn't hit ground, either. The lifting mechanism had to be adjusted abit (cut and weld). I'll have to wait until tomorrow night to see how it works, with the 5 - 8 inches of snow expected.
Adding a steel scraper bar to the bottom of the bucket may be the only answer. Is there a scraper bar there now? Could that be missing or worn down so much that it needs to be replaced?

The blower doesn't have a bar on the bottom to adjust to the ground level. From the setting I have on it right now it looks like I am on the lowest setting. I can get it to hit the ground by taking air out of the front tire but then the tractor is very hard steer. I think my only option is to attach a bar on the bottom of the blower.
