i just finished my snow plow for the second time i was going to bolt it to the front of the tractor but i was having trouble lifting it so i cut the bracket off after watching this youtube video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=LoKOgqPKj9I
on the front i have a guild to keep it going straight, to lift the plow i used a chain to the lift lever and a muffler clamp, and on the back i used 2 peaces angel iron for transmission clearance and another plate for rear hitch. i started this with a peace of pipe i had in my barn and my dad says "thats not heavy enough you should use this" 1 1/2 solid bar.

Nice work, keep in mind that when the blade is lifted at the front it is an angled lift. Make sure that your (angle) guide brackets will still hold it in place.
