i am almost certin my case 448 is a 82 or 84 i cant remeber what the guy said when i bought it. anyways i am going to look at a snow caster that i might be getting really really cheap. its a 38 in and i know i need the bigger 48 but i have a torch and a welder so anything is possible. can someone please tell me what caster i need the right or left handed or maybe model number to look for on the 38 so i dont get the wrong turning one.....thanks in advance
This doesn't answer your question but, I heard the problem with the 38" on the bigger tractors is the tires will ride over the uncleared snow on each side. Might want to check this out. This could be wrong, just something I heard before, I'm sure others will know better from experience.
You can buy wings/extensions for the smaller caster so you won't run over the snow and Wurkenman is correct that you will need a left hand model as your engine sits in the forward position as all of the pre 90's did.
I don't think a torch & a welder is going to be of much help making 80 series snowcaster wider. Your best bet is to add the wings or find a 84 series blower.
