snapper ztr 5900799 pto problem

My PTO cuts out when mowing. Each restart lasts less time than previous. PTO clutch is O.K. as it will mow all day if you direct wire the clutch to the battery. As a side note, the hour meter also quit when this happened. I have a wiring diagram but can't sort it out.

check all connections nicked wires my cub was blowing fuses had skint wire underneath motor pull pto switch kill it
