I picked up a 1975 Snapper that's getting no spark. Kinda like me. Has anyone changed the points and condenser to the Magnetron retro kit electronic ignition? There is also a Universal Ignition module, Has anyone used this? I found these units here:

This is a new repair for me. I know I would have to pull the flywheel to clean the points, but do I have to pull the flywheel to install either of these modules?

Here is the mower's serial numbers

Thanks, Bill

I retrofitted an old 3.5 Briggs that was on a tiller. I didn't use the kit. I went to my local small engine guy and told him what I was wanting to do. He sold me a solid state coil ($30ish, I forgot). I took all the points stuff off (not nesscary). Its a straight forward swap between the old coil and the new one. The only thing I had to do was wire the kill switch for it. I don't how hard or easy the kit is.

I have an old snapper push mower with points and condenser. I just swapped on a solid state coil from a newer mower, works great.
