I have a Snapper Hi Vac with the Wisconsin Robin 4 cycle motor. I'd like to get a new muffler. When I look on eBay and other places these mufflers they show are not the same as what's on my mower. Does anyone know where to find the correct muffler for this engine?

Auto part Gas Vehicle City car

Lawn mower Vehicle Outdoor power equipment Automotive tire Asphalt

This is what they claim is compatible. But it's for a Robin EV20 motor not the WI-185

I have a Wisconsin-Robin on my Snapper RER, and I have had some of the same problems locating parts for my engine. I have found that the engine model numbers changed when Wisconsin-Robin became Robin Subaru. The part from e-bay you have posted the link to may actually work but might look different than the older one you have. The part number listed in the e-bay posting is the part number I found in the Wisconsin-Robin manuals I found online. Parts are hard to come by, but the motors are worth keeping alive! Good luck in your search.

Hello. I looked up the part # for your 185V. The # is EY 2273010101 or 2273010101.
You may want to find a generic substitute for this muffler. It is somewhat pricey. I found the pic at the Powergarden website. Jack's has it also but it is very pricey. Plug the part # into Google and see what comes up. I have a Pdf. for this engine so if you want a copy just send me a PM with your home Email address and I will Email you back a copy.

HOPE THIS HELPS

I use SEPW.com because they seem to have better prices with shipping to my location in western Nebraska from Wisconsin than some of the other parts suppliers. They are very helpful, and if there ever has been a problem, I have just called them up and told them, and they shipped me out another part, no questions asked. Great customer service. :goodl:

I don't think they sold many with Wisc-Robin engines on Snappers. I bought a new "commercial" 21" with a 2 cycle 4hp, self propelled and bagger in 92 or 93. It cost $750 back then. Mine was underpowered. I sold it around 95-97.

My 5HP Wisc / Robin engine (4 cycle) is not under powered by any means. It's more powerful than the Sears 6.5HP it replaced. My only complaint would be it's heavy ... but that's likely why it's lasted since the 1980s and the Sears lasted about 3 years. I wasn't looking for one. It showed up when I looked for nearby used mowers on Craigslist. I wanted a 'commercial' mower. The owner had no luck selling it so I got it for a reasonable price. After I got it I found out more about the engine. I like the fact it uses standard Snapper Hi Vac parts. Unfortunately the early W1-185V motor has limited parts supply. I plan to maintain it well and do a mild restoration on it this Winter.
