My 1855(new to me) trying to get it operational. Is making noise by in the rear driveshaft(upper)?? Like a rattle..any ideas of what to check or what maintenance to do?? It runs and moves fine..

Loose splines and sloppy U-joints would be the first things I would look for.

Tom, it seems like a lighter sound..hard to explain..is there any kind of idler pulley back there?..driveshaft seems tight..like a loose rattle..washer???I cant see..there is some kind of pulley in there..
