I hate that I let a T1400 get away from me. The very best part of the mower, and there are lots of good parts, is the Kubota built 14 hp engine. What new engine is on it now?

Found this kubota, I believe its a T1400, the man said the engine blew and he put a good engine back on it, and before he got thru he found a different mower that he wanted, and now has lost interest in this one. He wants 150 bucks.
Should I buy it? Are kubota mowers the same quality as their tractors?

Briggs. I didnt realize that kubota put their own engines on them, maybe the briggs repower is the reason he didnt finish? Things not working the same?I hate that I let a T1400 get away from me. I have a t1400 mower, and I LUV it. Mine has the 14hp "Kubota" motor, but when I order service parts for it, they usually come in an Onan package...
Interesting that the parts would come from Onan. I never ran the numbers on the engine to confirm the manufacturer. I wouldn't throw it out because of the Briggs but if there are problems then ask what is going wrong.
A note; mine was a T1400H, if that makes any difference. I don't know if this mower was ever made without the hydrostatic drive. I do know that this hydro was a dream to operate.

I think the motor in the T1400 was a Kawasaki engine...
www.smallenginewarehouse.com says T1400H had a Kubota GH400V most other models listed on their re-power page list Kawasaki motors of diesel engines. They don't even make a re-power kit. You can email them and ask what they'd use to re-power it with.

I have two Kubota T1460's. One with the 12 1/2 hp Kawasaki engine and the other also has a Kawasaki 14 hp engine, (FC420 ohv). I am rebuilding it now and trying to find a replacement engine and it seems they are like lips on a chicken....hard to find. I can't get Kawasaki to even respond to an e-mail.
