New here guys...hope you might be able to help me out. Was mowing a few days ago and one of my blades came lose. By the time I stopped it, the rounded star piece at the bottom of the assemble had been ground off.

So I need a new one. Found it on the Sears site. But how can I get it off with noting to be able to grip on to loosen the bolt on the top?

Tractor is a DLT 3500. Part is #13 on the image below.

I did that little job a couple of years ago. The easy way is to get the whole shaft assembly with the new shaft already in the new assembly. Seems like to remove the shaft from the housing I used a hammer and a wood block. All this of course is after you take the mower deck off, unbolt the mandrell housing bolts etc. Order parts from Sears. com and they will be in your mailbox 2/3 days later.
