I got my 318 several years ago as a temporary purchase when my 317 had a tranny leak...but after having power steering, the 318 became a keeper and the 317 took a spot in the back of the shed. I sandblasted my 318 deck late last fall, but then it got too cold to paint. I'm just now painting it as the grass is getting high in spots.

So I decided to fire up my old 317. At first it was a nice reunion - the sound of the engine - the steering wasn't as hard as I remembered - the replacement seat is a little different than the 318 but its ok...but as I kept mowing...the power is less then the 318...the seat gets a little uncomfortable...and the manual steering when making a lot of turns -ughh!....now I remember why we broke up.

It was nice seeing her again, but happy to be going home to the 318.

Yeah...power steering is a big plus on tractors...especially with loaders or snow blowers on the front
