So the other day i dug my grandfather's SS12 out of the crap in the garage. Its been sitting for way too long and needs to be used. I recently purchased a Briggs and Stratton series 200400 for 75 dollars that was rebuilt and bored 30 over. I was wondering if anyone has advice on the placement of the engine. I don't have the battery tray in the tractor anymore due to clearance issues and the Briggs has a old school rope starter and I kinda like it. So I understand that the SS15 came with a Briggs and was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of the location of the bolt holes that need to be drilled into the frame. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:i_praying

Repost this in the Sears Craftsman section. There a bunch of threads on doing what you propose the do in that forum. I did a bigger Tecumseh OH 160 in my SS12 and others have done a host of other both gasoline and diesel engines in their Suburbans. Good luck on the swap. Roger
