I have a 73 Sears SS/twin with 16hp onan engine. Battery would not charge. Put an aftermarket rectifier in from Amazon. It worked for about two weeks, then went bad. Now I have to get another one. Any recommendations on regular/rectifier that will hold up ,,,,,,,,, thanks bws

I've been using the voltage regulator on Amazon by Arrowhead #AKH6003.

What I've also done for my regulator is I made an aux grounding wire coming from the regulator attachment bolt on the engine tin that runs to a frame bolt for even better grounding.

One can never have enough grounds with aluminum engines to help with electronics.

most issues with charging stem from rusty/corroded connections. Before you buy anything, plug and unplug the wires at the voltage regulator and ignition several times so they "self sand" themselves to clean the contacts. A lot of times the ignition switch connector is corroded - the voltage runs through the switch when it's on, and will not charge if it's rusty.
