Hi guys, I had a older gentleman call me tonight asking for some help on what his Sears model 842.260073 blower fits. I know it's a Haban blower, and believe from what I could find that it may fit the 10/6, 12/6 or 14/6, as well as the GT 11 and GT 14 Varidrive machine but that blower number turns up little compared to the Suburban equivalent, was hoping you guys here would be able to shed some light on it Thanks in advance! :)

If it helps I do have a manual for it and you will need the front mount bracket model number 917.253140 here a picture of the bracket and the blower mounted on a Roper 11 which is the same as the Sears 10/6, 14/6, varidrives and other models with the same body style

Thanks CMF

Casey thank you! I will make sure he has that bracket. He purchased the blower about 4 years ago and it didnt fit his tractor so he wanted to find one that it would fit. He has the manual for it also. I will pass the info along :)

How well does it work?

It dont like wet snow the shute plugs but for other snow it works good in my point of veiw just got adjust your speed and width for the depth of the snow I have cleared drifts that are taller than the blower I just had to put it in 1st gear low and take a half a pass in 1 to 2 inches 2nd high

If you dont have the bracket and dont plan on removing it from the tractor you can use 2 pieces of 3 inch by 1/4 inch angle iron just got to drill the holes
Thanks Casey! I will give the gentleman a call and pass on all the information. Do you happen to know what model Ropers are equivalent?

These I believe the year range started in 1977 the last year I know of is 1980. I believe In 1981 is when Sears started using the dash the hood and the grill on a lighter Duty tractor with a different frame motor orientation and trans. Roper had two models the 11 and 14 of this body style and Sears had three models early years of the run the 10/6, 12/6, 14/6 then around 1979 or 1980 the renamed their models not sure of the names tho. These tractors used the same manual trans as thier full size counterparts

Hi Casey, I have talked to the gentleman and he does not have that bracket. Thank you very much for the pictures, would you be able to take measurements and pictures of the whole length of the parts, as well as the side distances of the holes and the slot? He will appreciate them very much :)
give me a few days and I can get them
Great, thank you Casey!

I know this thread is 2 years old, but I'm trying to adapt another Haban thrower to my Varidrive GT14. Do you have so pics of the clutch system to work the auger ?

Right tractor, not the image I need. I'm having trouble comprehending(and finding parts for) how the clutch keeps the auger from being engaged during start up. I'm assuming there's a tensioner pulley or something along those lines inside that housing which the pedal would engage and release.

The Haban I'm using was meant to be run by mower blade PTO so it's system of center mounted and would have been PTO controlled. In extending the jackshaft so that it's off center to the right to match with the GT pulley. Now it's a matter of creating a system to engage and unengage.
