That wasnt cheap back in the day either. Very nice find. How many times was it used? once, twice?
From the looks of it not more than a hand full. I think weed whackers kinda buried these things but a whacker will not leave a clean edge along the sidewalk like these will. How much were these things? That wasnt cheap back in the day either. Very nice find. How many times was it used? once, twice?
So it would be better if the blade spun backwards? My dad had one of these and he always canted the blade one notch toward the grass also. Said he liked how it looked and prolonged the grass from growing over the sidewalk.Very nice, only problem (same one our edger has) blade turns the wrong way. I tilted my blade and twisted the belt. Belt has lasted surprisingly long.

It virtually is. I can only find one scratch on it and all the stickers are on it like it left the factory. No resto needed on this bad boy. LOL!I was going to say... did you already restore it? Holy crap that thing looks new!
LOL! Ronald would be proud. I'm going to use it around my house. You should put the golden arches on the front of it... mcdonald's color scheme.
Going to use this or stow it away?
I dunno what "early" is, but I've had dozens and dozens of old worn out Briggs motors that ran flawlessly and didn't burn oil. I'd trust an old Briggs just as easily as an old Lawn Boy...those were the standard for comm useres before the stick edger. i still have one-only down side is those briggs tend to start burning oil early.
It's amazing how many people I talk to who still haven't heard of Freecycle.
