I've been looking at electric overhead hoists for the shop I manage, and found an old Yale 2 ton. It was on ebay, advertised as not working, They said they tried everything to get it going- nothing. I got it for $50, figuring it would only need a motor. I got it home, and brought it into work to clean up. The maintenance man offered to take a look at it, and had it going in half an hour! He called the manufacturer, got the wiring diagram, and hooked it up. All the mechanical stuff- gears, etc. look great, and it's 110 volt, single phase, which is VERY hard to find. Needless to say, it's going to spend the rest of it's days in my possession, lifting tractors and engines and such. I'll find another for the shop, where we have 3 phase power.
