First tiller, been looking for a TB for a while. Found this one on Craigslist last week...think it's a '75 (sn 167045?), has an 8hp B&S I/C on it (obviously repowered, looking at the kustom engine adapter plate :thThumbsU

It has definitely spent most of its life outside, looking at the paint and decals. Tires look nearly new, though! Runs great, 1-2 pulls. Has a hokey kill switch (see pics). Belts were slipping, still not quite tight enough, but seems to be at the end of adjustment..but the belts look pretty new

Did manage to till some of my rock-hard dry clay tonight...it's a manly machine! I need to go through the whole thing, maintenance-wise. I've d/l'ed the manual, joined the troy-bilt group on Yahoo...I was already a member here, I've had a great time in the walk-behind forum ( I have a Lawn-Boy 2-stroke).

Any way to tell what engine mine had originally?

Here's a few pics....Oh...price? $180 :bannana:

Can't beat the price for what you have. It looks pretty good, especially with the new tires.

Bought a 6 hp Tecumseh Horse three weeks ago for $150.00 Runs real good but needs an axle seal. has new tines on it and it needed the reverse adjusted on it. I asked the guy why the reverse wasn't working and he said he'd had it for years and didn't even know it HAD a reverse!! I asked him for a coupla wrenches and had it backing up in a matter of minutes. Boy was he surprised and more than a little upset. I'll post some pics if y'all want to see it. Oh, yeh, the carb leaks some too.

Of course we want pictures! The new tines on that beast cost more than what you paid for it. Sounds like you did really good. :fing32:
