I had a ground wire break off the bottom of the coil. After I fixed it, it started running rough and back firing a few times. Could this be cause and effect? What's the most common cause for running rough and back firing? I only ran it for a few minutes.

thanks

Doesn't sound too good. Check your fuses and points first. If you get a new coil, get a new condenser with it.

Re: running rough and back firing (condensor bad)

When the ground wire broke off the coil it fried the condenser. My wire broke off because the coil shakes wildly. I need a fix to stop the shacking or another place to mount the coil. Then I cracked the coil added the ground wire back on. :fing20:
