I have been searching for another flywheel cover for this engine but haven't found any so I guess I'm going to have to repair this one.
Here is what it looks like with all the rust holes in it.

First thing was to cut out a strip of sheet metal and form it in the roller to fit inside of the bottom of the cover.

Then I rolled one edge on it to fit up against the curve on the front of the cover.

Here it is brazed into the bottom of the cover.
It didn't cover all of the rust holes but it got most of them.

The outside of the cover with all of the rust holes brazed up.

How it looks after the brazing is ground down.

Primed and ready for a layer of body fill to smooth it out.

A layer of body fill is applied.

While that's drying, I replaced the 2-piece tie-down strap on the hydraulic tank with a single piece strap with the screw on the bottom.

Here are the straps on the gas tank so you can see that they all match now.

Next was to mount the small generator.
I made up a mounting bracket for the bottom flange on the generator and welded it to the side of the frame.

Here's how it looks from the back showing the tension adjusting bracket on the top flange of the generator.

View from the side showing how the V-belt runs off the pulley behind the flywheel.

And a view from the front showing how the generator is tucked up close to the engine.

I apologize for my photos being blocked.
Photobucket sent me this email last weekend:

"Attention jdcrawler

You have exceeded the 10 GB monthly bandwidth limit on your free
Photobucket account. As such, your image and video links have been
temporarily disabled. Your images and videos have not been deleted but
will be reactivated on the 02nd of the month, when your bandwidth
usage resets to zero. "

Sometime next Saturday, all of the photos will be unblocked and I will be able to post more photos once again.

...And they are excellent!

You sure have brought us a long way on the build. It's been a sweet ride and I'll continue watching as long as you keep working on it :D

I'm a lot farther along than this.
This is post #6 and I'm not sure how ( or why ) someone grabbed it to comment on.

Right now, I'm up to post #10 on this project.
Look down the page on this forum and you will see post #7 thru #10 listed.
