Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class Joh n C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, justsouth of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places. The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. The video is rather long but a great patriotic view.

A tribute to the uncommon, common man, who willingly serves for it is his duty.
Not all can or will answer the call to serve but for those that do it is an experience that cannot be forgotten.
Some serve on foreign soil, some closer to home, but wherever they serve their hearts never roam.
Their dedication to duty, their love of country, their keen appreciation for the cost of freedom, all define the soldier as the greatest of our national assets.

Where would we be without the humble and spirited soldier?

God Bless.

The people in that video are part of the reason our military members do what they do. An awesome tribute. Thanks for sharing it.
