Removing the Gear Case

615 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  fac
On my shift driven mow and snow blower, is it easier to remove the complete gear housing on the unit to drain and replace the gear lube?

How much of a job is this?

Just seems like a better idea then tipping the hole unit.

Cheers!

I can't comment on the blower but I think that it is much easier to change the deck gear case oil if you remove it from the deck. While you have it off is a good time to grease the zerks on the mower driveshaft and the deck driveshaft.
