x500, Had the blade on all winter and never got a chance to use it. Now I see the grass is growing.

Do I remove all parts relating to the blade or can I leave some of the linkage stuff? I am hoping to avoid losing stuff or forgetting how it goes back on. and saving time.

It's always good to take some pictures before disassembling something so you can see how it goes back together. Particularly if you don't have a good instruction booklet.

Take the blade off. Remove the horzontal lift link arm on the outside of the frame that connects pedal mechanism to the blade lift cradle. Remove the blade lift cradle. keep all the parts together. When all is said and done you should have only these three assemblies to store.

I do not leave blade lift cradle on during the mowing season. Don't want that extra part sticking out where it can catch on something or prevent me from getting closer to something for mowing. Removing or reinstalling the entire blade system is less than 5 minute task.

If your interested, here is Dollie I made to make moving it even easier.
:ditto: what he said... The only reason I can see why you would have to remove the lift parts under the tractor is if you were going to put the 30" tiller on your X500. After you take the blade off, you can reconnect the three pieces and store them as one unit -- should be harder to misplace if everything is attached to the blade.

Sorry to hear you didn't get to use the blade much, mine has moved more dirt than snow this year.

The exact same situation I'm in. I talked the wife into letting me buy the blade and tire chains and it hasn't moved at all. Oh well....I'm sure in the future winters we'll move some. I hate snow but would sure like the seat time!!!!!
Maybe there will be snow next year!
1000 bucks for snow removal, ice melt and spreader. Brighter head lights and rear LED lights for night snow work. First day in AGES that schools have not had a single snow day here.

Could have bought some R/C airplanes! But yes, perhaps next year will make up for it.

Leaving the linkages underneath the mower intact will really make life easier. Thanks guys!
Hey hey! We got 3 inches of snow Monday Morning!
Blade works better than I imagined. Fast! Fun!
