Not sure if this tip will be useful to anyone but...
I have a GMC Sierra. One of the grease fittings for the steering is darned near inaccessible.
Moog makes a handy little kit to relocate it, Moog K6714. It's under $20 from most places, comes with an adapter block and a mount bracket. IIRC, it's about a foot long.
You could probably put something together yourself for less, but for a single problem fitting needing relocation, this is a nice kit all in one.
