Good traction, but you have to watch the load limits with some tires, especially ones meant for ATVs. These have a limit of 455 lbs each. If it's enough for you, then that is a great price for the pair.

That would be just sufficient for the tractor, tiller, and my (ahem) weight.

That is a good point, but 910 lbs on the rear of a GT is alot of weight, more than most transaxles are good for. That max load rating is at 50mph for that tire.

910 lbs is alot of weight for newer garden tractors, but I've got a couple oldies that weigh 600-700 lbs without me on it. those tires probably would be fine for a newer tractor.

My 07 Craftsman weighs 596lbs stock and the trans axle is rated at 700lbs max. With my butt on there it is over the max. Go figure.

But how much of that weight is on the rear tires only.

Dang near A 1/2 ton of weight on the rear of any GT new or old is a lot of weight.

Think of it this way. Would you stack 18 50lbs bags of corn on the rear of any of your GT's. I wouldn't, not even on my MTD 990, which weighs over 900lbs by its self.

Using the 990 as an example, with a big 16hp cast iron engine WAY UP FRONT! Easily 200 lbs in itself. Possibly a little more. Another 150 to 200 lbs of frame weight, pto weight etc on the front 1/2. I know the transaxle on a 990 is heavy, but I doubt it's the 500 remaining lbs. And a 990 is way heavier than most gt's.

My point is, those are darn good gt tires, which most anyone would NEVER overload.

Now as for your sears weihgt and weight capacity, well, thats poor engineering, or simply a gt that is only meant for lawn mowing if you are 150 lbs or less. They should put that in their ads!

I rarely run more than 5 lbs of air anyway. 10 if I'm pulling a huge load of firewood.
That's what I was saying, your not going to put 900lbs on the rear axle and pumping them up to 10lbs air pressure will hold even more weight and is not going to blow them out, not when you can blow them up to 25lbs to seat the bead. 7lbs is the rated pressure at 50mph, that's a whole different story.

As for the Craftsman, yes it is an overrated lawn mower compared to the older stuff.

My MF1655 tipped the scales at 2212 lb. at a local tractor pull with my 215 lb., FEL with a 54" bucket, loaded tires, chains and a drawbar on the 3 pt. hitch. Normally carry a 5' back blade with two 65lb. steel plates on the hitch. The Peerless 2500 rear end is rated at either 1250 or 1500lb. One number is torque and the other is load. Can't remember which is which, and I pump my tires to max. Discounting the weight of the rear tires, chains and calcium (400+ lb.) add the back blade and it still isn't much over 1000lb. on the rear axle. We won't discuss the front axle.

Good deal on the tires. They have another set that I'm interested in if I can come up with the bucks.
