rear fender removal

Hi all and good morning, I need to remove the rear fender from my JD 212, mine is a early 1975, so the brake pedal does not unbolt, it has the flat bracket bar permanently attached to it, I see the cir clip to remove, but how is the brake pedal with the flat bar going to make it through the hole in the fender?? I need to do some body work to the fender and replace the spring & ball in the transaxle and I want to replace all the fuel line & paint .. Thanks.. I have only had the replacement ball & spring since 2012.. but now can do without the JD for a while since I purchased a JD 320... :thanku:

Laying under the tractor and looking up at the pedal where it comes through the fender pan, there should be a bolt. Loosen that up, and it will release the pedal from a shaft. You may need to spray some lubricant on the shaft/pedal and let it soak for a little while. The pedal will pull out towards you when standing next to the machine. There will be a key on the shaft, so you will be able to wiggle the pedal only a little bit as you are pulling it off. Hope this helps.

I looked, there is no bolt, now I looked at the jd parts list site and the 1976 up have a bolt that can be removed to disconnect the flat pedal from the bottom part with the cir clip, by the diagram at john deere mine is one piece
