Long story short, the radiator drain tube housing the petcock snapped off of the radiator on my JD 430. Does anybody know if a radiator shop can weld it back on? It snapped off cleanly. I've been searching for a new JD radiator but I'm not finding any. Would be interested in a used one as well if the radiator cannot be repaired. I guess that's the price I pay for
having a liquid-cooled beast! ;-)

Look for a welding shop that has junk all over and a dog chained to a car on the side of the building. Preferably one where the proprietor makes you wonder if he belongs in ZZ Top.

They can braze anything.

PS - they usually don't take credit cards, so bring bourbon.

Not loaded. Just out in the "wide" setting.

Well, I found a clean cut radiator shop owner who'll have it ready on Monday. Maybe I should look for a nastier shop! ;-)

If you've ever wondered what's under that long snout of a 430. ;-)

Some pics of the mighty Yanmar diesel sans the radiator, etc.

Always wondered why that front on a 430 stuck out so far, now I know. It's the radiator and PTO. The engine sets back so it doesn't make the front end heavy. Had a 400 years ago. Had about the same setup on the PTO. Your engine sets in the same direction as my 455 but all I have in front is the flywheel and battery right in front of it. Everything drives off the front of crankshaft (I least I call it the front even though its pointing towards the rear of tractor.

Posting pictures such as those will set a dangerous precedent. They will give me ideas as to how to stuff a diesel into a 400. :sidelaugh
