The instructions for the diverter are supplied with the the quick hitch, they are part of the QH install instructions.
I would drain the suspect fluid out of the rams and hoses for the QH. Air is not an issue. I think it took a little over a quart to bring the hydro back up to the proper level after install of the QH.
