Since I just purchased a used system. Not knowing whats in the hose would it be in my best interest to decouple and drain the fliud? And when plugging in and out of the system do I need to do anything special for air in the line? Will it automatically purge the air out? How much fluid is in the hydraulic tank? Thank you.

Also the JD dealer didn't have the paper to for the diverter valve is there a procedure sheet on how to instal?

The instructions for the diverter are supplied with the the quick hitch, they are part of the QH install instructions.

I would drain the suspect fluid out of the rams and hoses for the QH. Air is not an issue. I think it took a little over a quart to bring the hydro back up to the proper level after install of the QH.
