question on rim size

My guess would be yes as far as bolt pattern goes. Assuming both are either 2wd or 4wd it should fit. Alot of times there is a variance in backspacing between 2 and 4wd so if one truck is 2 wheel and the other is 4 it may not work.

97 and 01 were pretty much the same truck. Should fit as long as the trucks are the same drive setup.[ie 2wd, vs 4wd]

Another thing to consider is if it will clear the calipers as brakes have been getting larger in the last 15-20 years.
