Hello!
I have made enough progress on the 14SE that I am restoring to start thinking about the cosmetics.

As usual there are scratches in the mower deck assembly from impacting trees/rocks/etc.

The deck is silver and I know it is made out of aluminum.

Does anyone know if the paint is clear coated or not?

I need to figure that out so I can devise a plan to deal with the scratches.

The scratches are hard to see in this video but you can get an overall impression of the mower from it:

Many thanks!

It is not clear coated and Rustoleum makes a Hammered paint color that is very close. The only way to deal with scratches is to sand them out and basically repaint deck. Due to a number of reasons (fading for example) spot painting with a brush will not make it any better looking than it looks currently. Roger

"""then I'll have to decide what to do with it."""

If it was me..... I'd use it for another twenty years or so :fing32:

but then again, I'm a bit biased...... :D
