pulleys on ss 18

On a SS18 with the onan twin, mine has a quad stack pulley. the first one, next to the motor, is where the belt that pulls the tractor goes. Is the pulley for the mower deck belt the next one, or the one after? And does anyone know what size belt that takes? From the motor, thru the mule gear, and to the mower.

Hi, Homefried1, I have the same tractor, with a 48" deck.
Yes it's the pulley slot next to the drive belt for the tractor.

From Hyper-Parts.com:
Dimensions:
Length: 102-1/8"
Width: 5/8"
Notes:
AYP original part.
Replaces AYP #(s) 25672, 3555R, 6941R, 6941RR.

According to the manual I have, the same belt for the mule is the same for both the 42" deck and the 48" deck.
I know on mine, it's the largest pulley. Your manual should state which pulley to use for which attachment. The belt routing image is from the mowing deck manual, so it should give you a good indication of which pulley to use.
I stand corrected, it's the large pulley, 2nd one out from the drive belt.

Honestly I never noticed the small one for the sickle bar mower in the stack, I thought it was a void. :fing20:
No not a problem I didn't think you were being rude at all. I gave wrong information and I'm glad you corrected it. :)
Sorry to hear you have troubles :(

Will it crank and run with the key on and jumping the solenoid?

Make sure it's in neutral and the PTO is off, don't want any accidents ;)
