As most of you know I am in the process of building a loader for my 1969 1225. I am near the point where I need to make an adapter to run the hydraulic pump off the front PTO. The PTO is a 3/4" shaft with 6-splines and the hydraulic pump is 1/2" with 1/8" keyway. Does anyone know of a source for a femal coupler for the splined PTO shaft?

If I cannot find a source the only other way I can think of is to take a piece of 1-1/4" stock bore one end to an ID of 3/4" and the other to an ID of 1/2". Using the original cotter pin hole on the PTO shaft and pinning the coupling onto to pump itself. Would this be sufficient?

It should work as long as you get the alignment spot on. Another option would be to mount the pump to the side and drive it with a belt off the back end of the PTO, using one of the PTO sheaves.
