I have a outer housing cracked on my 8N after the hitch lifted the mower too high.
In the parts i show listed is a PTO cover gasket, oil seal PTO Shaft housing (the original 1 3/8 inch housing on 310089 is not available) I went out a few nights ago to measure the shaft and all I find is the PTO shaft coming out that wabbles a tad and on it the PTO Over running coupler. Without removing parts I do not even see the shaft to measure it.
My concern is I do not find even listed the outer housing.
unless ? the housing I am looking at is considered the outer housing, However that housing does not have a Seal, snap ring or bearing.

Thoughts ? Ideas as to what I have that is broken ?

When it snapped loose it did seap a fair quantity of oil but I find no way it would "stay sealed"..

They have you covered, by far the simple easy way to do it is to replace it as a new unit. That is unless you have some reason/need to keep the older shaft.
