Just wondering if anyone is using propane as their primary fuel for their tractor or other engine? Just looking for opinions and advice on conversion, power loss, maintenance costs, etc ad infinitum...

Converted my MTD 990 to propane when I switched the engine to a Kohler Command 20 hp from a used Tenant sweeper. Runs like a dream, with the 20 hp replacement engine, I don't notice any power loss even with the aux. hydraulic pump running. The extra weight of the tank probably works as well as wheel weights. I'll post newer pics as these where taken when I was rebuilding it. The aux hydraulic pump runs a FEL, hydraulic tiller, and post hole auger setup without any problems and uses an electric clutch unit to only run when needed. I like the propane setup much better than gas, wanted diesel, but glad I found the propane unit. I've heard that the propane is easier on the engine as well.
