Prepping a RCK60B-22BX 60" MMM for the season

Nice video, Dave. I’ll have to try your method of attaching the PTO, which is a pain. I had to smile watching you wrestle with the deck while on the bucket hooks, but only because I’ve been there. I also use bucket hooks. You left the tractor running pointing into the garage while you were trying to set the deck down. I wonder how much exhaust you sucked down. :tango_face_smile_bi

I have to raise the front of the tractor up about an inch or so using the loader or a floor jack to slide the deck in and out. When connecting the front deck bracket I let the loader down on an upright 2x4 Just in case the hydraulics were to fail. It would likely kill me if it somehow fell. Isn’t that why they call it a Fel.

Al, I really thought about deleting that MMM lifting fiasco but thought, might as well show the GAFs/bloopers too as it could help someone in the future. I've Lifted that MMM on/off the axle wheels stands at least 15 times and it figures it would be a pain when recording it LOL.
You mean you don't love the smell of diesel in the morning LOL...... The shop ventilates pretty well with the doors open, didn't even smell it.

OT, I've settled on 22 front and 20 rear over years of trial and error. I've tried as low as 15 in the rears when not mounting the BH but found that the wheels were prone to spin in the tires, especially when in mud or soft terrain. My rears are filled 3/4 with Rim guard which may make them more slippery.
Those tire pressures are what my MMM is setup to also.

That’s quit a difference, I forgot you have a BH. Here’s the 1860 chart, says 14 for turf. I’m over pressure on the front, but like you, this is what I did based on trial and error. Also my rears are not loaded, wanted to be lite.

I just did the spring thing myself. I have two of the RCK60B-=22X mower decks. Both came with my tractor when I bought it.

I keep one suspended from the garage ceiling via a chain hoist and the other is always on the mower. Swap them out twice a year to share the wear between them. Both have Gator blades installed. Having the deck suspended allows easy standing access to the blades and the grease fittings.

What I do when swapping them out: I remove the deck from the mower, pick it up with my front end loader via a chain, take it out side where I pressure wash all the grass debris from under it and on top and let it dry. Next I bring it back in the shop where it is raised up with the chain hoist. I then grease it, and remove and sharpen the blades. Then inspect it for seal leaks, belt wear and cracks in the deck. When it's time to use this deck again, I lower it down, check the oil level (which is always a bit low due to the vent drip), then mount it on the mower ready to go!

A spare MMM to share the wear, now thats cool no matter how you cut it. LOL....

My neighbor called me over to the fence after I mowed and remarked how smooth and powerful the BX sounded while I was mowing. Sharpened and balanced blades make the whole machine run smoother. I just gotta learn to sharpen those blades more often, or get me another MMM to swap around LOL...

Having two decks is nice! When i bought Baby Orange it was used, I was not aware I had even bought two decks! When they delivered the tractor, the driver was like, "Oh yeah, here is the spare deck that comes with it!" Very handy as last year I finally broke one of the original belts on one of the decks and just swapped decks while I waited on a replacement belt to come in. Man is that belt a pain to get back on!

My neighbor says the hi-lift gator blades I use make the tractor sound like a helicopter when at full throttle. Says he always knows it's me mowing just by the sound... BTW the gators have hardened blade tips, I only have to sharpen twice a year unless I run over a rock. I mow a bit over two acres a week.
